  2. Calculating Task Completion Time

I am looking for a way to capture how long it takes a user to create a record.
Does TrackVia stamp when a Form is opened? If so, then I can use this value in a datedif formula against the record Create Date/Time to see how long it took to open the form, key in the information, and click Save.

  3. Calculating Duration of Time

Is there a way to calculate Time, (not Base-10 numbers)?

I have a user who tracks Total Run Time (TRT) for TV Programming, and we need to sum/add the durations of multiple TRT's in the format of HH:MM:SS (Base 60).

  4. Count working hours

I need to count working hours in the range defined by "Start" and "End" fields. Both fields are Date and Time format. The working day lasts from 7 AM till 3:30 PM. I need to count time only from this range. Overtime and weekends should not be included. I can start and end work any day at any time.
weekdays() function counts only days, datedif() function includes all 24 hours and weekends.
    Any ideas?

  5. Auotnumber and Text in calculated text

Can anyone please explain why this calculated text field formula works when Historic Order Number has a value but not when it's blank. I'm guessing it's something to do with the fact that Historic Order number is a text field whereas Order Number is an autonumber, however I can't find a to string function.

    IF({Factory}="Toplink", "TLKNZ", IF({Factory}="Playmore", "PKNZ", IF({Factory}="Colaro", "CKNZ", IF({Factory}="Vithal", "VKNZ", "")))) & IF({Historic Order Number}="", {Order Number}, {Historic Order Number})

  8. Count the number of child records with specific data in a field

I have child records with "Available" as a field. I want to count the number of records that contain "Yes" in that field and ignore the rest.

  9. How do I calculate the sum of a column so that I can then use that to determine the percentage of the total for a given value?

For example I want to show the percentage of total sales by store, salesperson etc.
Everything I have tried so far just returns 100% as it is only doing the calculation on a row by row basis rather than using the column total.

  10. Calculate Remaining Balance

I have a view where I can see a client's Total Cost, Deposit they paid and their Remaining Balance (I have Balance set with the formula Total Cost - Deposit.) When a client wants to make a partial payment, how can I do that and have the Remaining Balance calculate that?

  11. calculate the total amount from a column, not a count of what is showing information?

I would like to be able to calculate a total in a column, i.e. column shows amount of Disposition, would like a sum at the bottom showing the total of all those claims.

  12. Is there a maximum number of IF statements I can nest?

I ask this because when I go to save the calculated field a dialog box appears stating: "We've had a minor problem. We can't tell if your request completed. Please click OK below to refresh your browser." Prior to this dialog box appearing, however, a string of text appears (stating: "Large tables usually save in under a minute. Feel free to leave this page, we'll let you know when this is saved") atop the whited out page as the calculated field is saved - see attachment "Problem with IF Statement."

Also, once I paste the copied IF statement formula into…

  13. is blank

    Hi,

I am trying to create a formula where I have 2 is blank conditions and 3 outcomes (terminology may not be right here).

I can get the formula to work if I only have 2 outcomes, but as soon as I add the 3rd I get the following message "Too many arguments to function 'IF'. Expected 3 but got 4." I am not sure how to rectify this.

This is what I am trying to do:
    if(and(isBlank({Handover Commit Month}),isBlank({Projected Handover KPI})),dateadd({BD - TECH HO},182,"d"),{Projected Handover KPI},{Handover Commit Month})

I want to say if Handover Commit is blank then use…

  15. Use Regular Expression in Contains() or Snip()

It would be really great to be able to match a pattern of text with regular expression in contains() and snip()

For example, If I have a URL http://www.google.com/account/gmail/532905jfkdsa and http://www.google.com/account/maps/5723utiregmailfjdk

    If you use IF(contains("gmail",{url}),"Gmail","other")

It will return gmail for both because both contain gmail even though I am only looking for /account/gmail.

If I wanted to just find the account number (in this example) I could use something like /(\d+\w+)/g

  16. I need to copy an auto-generated numeric ID to a text field if a condition is met

I have a checkbox in a table to deliniate a category: checked or not checked. If not checked, the record is an asset without a serial number. When not checked, I need TrackVia to copy the auto-generated numeric field (unique ID) for that record to a text field as a substitute for the serial number.

  17. IS IT POSSIBLE TO COMBINE A NUMERIC FIELD AND A TEXT FIELD INTO A SINGLE CALCULATED FIELD

HAVE AN AUTOMATED NUMBER FIELD WITH A UNIQUE NUMBER FOR EACH RECORD, AND ANOTHER TEXT FIELD FOR LAST NAME. COMBINE THE TWO INTO ONE RECORD ID FIELD THAT CONTAINS THE NUMBER AND THE LAST NAME FOR EASIER IDENTIFICATION. I AM NEW TO THIS AND DID NOT SEE ANYTHING EXPLAINING WHETHER THIS COULD BE DONE IN THE KNOWLEDGEBASE

  19. Returning Value based on date being between two dates

I am trying to produce a formula to calculating carbon emissions factors.

When inputting a new meter record I need the date to return a value if it is between two dates.

I then need that value to be multiplied by the new meter value.
For this to work I presume I am going to need to set up another table with all of the dates and values I want to be returned. But how do I lay the table out?
Do I do a start date and end date? Month on Month?

Really need some help on the formula…

  20. Max Function and Dates

I have a max function that returns the "highest", or most recent, date. However, what gets returned is the max date minus 1 day.

For example, the highest date is 4/20/2014. But 4/19/2014 is returned.

Is this a bug? Or how can I fix it?
