Redesign the "Votes" for this Forum Site
This is not a TrackVia issue, but the design of this Forum site, but I don't know who the provider is.
Currently, users are given a certain number of "votes" that get used when:
1) Voting on other user's suggestions
2) Adding comments to posts
3) Creating your own posts
The problem is once you run out of "votes", you can't post anything new to the forums. This "feature" limits activity to the site.
A better option would be to have:
1) System restriction to allow only 1 vote for another user's posts
2. No "votes" needed to post a comment - this would allow active discussions (back-and-forth)
3) No "votes" needed to create a new post yourself. This will increase activity.
Please pass along to the provide/developer of this forum site.

I agree, there needs to be some change to this forum to increase collaboration i've spent the last hour just combing through posts trying to bump them with comments. many of them have been inactive for years, but are much needed changes!

Adding to this old post.
If the Vendor won't change how Votes are used, can they at least allow our Votes to be returned to us once the status of the Post has been changed? When TrackVia changes the status to "Under Review", or "Planned", etc., we know you've seen it and its on your list. At that point, we should have our Votes back instead of waiting for the status to change to "Complete".
This obstacle with the Voting "points" really makes this site unusable if we cannot post new content and engage in dialog with other users.

Hi John,
We understand this is a limitation when sharing ideas on the forum. The votes are intended to help us determine which issues are the most important for users so that we can take action. Likewise, it's your opportunity to tell us which are your top priorities you want to share with us. It is possible to get your votes back from any issue/enhancement you've voted on previously and to vote on your higher priorities.
The ability to comment and create ideas without costing votes is a great suggestion that we'll share with our forum administrators.
Regards,
Alex

I forgot to add that a workaround I have done is to find an old post, then remove my vote so its reclaimed for a different use.
