required fields in forms that are not required in table
Give the option to make fields in individual forms required even if they are not required fields in the corresponding table. This ensures that all the needed data is captured if forms are distinct but populate the same table.
This request was addressed in our October 29th release – Form Required Fields. You can now make fields required on the form, not just the table level.
I really need to option to make a field required in the form IF a certain checkbox is put in.
E.G. if a records gets a checkbox in "NG" then they need to insert the reason in a textfield.
This is also an instance of required fields on the form, but with a required event.
This is one of the last reasons why I would choose another company over TrackVia (like filemaker, or make my own UI and webapp)
Thanks for your feedback! Enhancing forms to include more functionality around business logic is an item on our radar. These types of suggestions (and votes) are very helpful. Keep them coming!

It would also be nice if we could set field permission on a role level or set mandatory fields based on the view being used and/or form being used. There definitely should be a lot of users who would benefit from extending features of field permissions whether it be by role or view or form. just limiting which fields are visible is not enough for an advanced workflow where certain information is required at different stages and not required in other stages.
Improvements to field permissions would be huge for workflows based on roles/views/forms.
I vote for this.
