The red box highlighting required fields for users only appears if the user has clicked on the input, not entered anything, then attempted to save the form. On a form with many fields and a user quickly moving through the form, they may miss the required field and try to save. Even when this occurs, the red box does not appear signalling where the user has to go back. While it makes sense to not have the red box showing by default, it would probably avoid some user frustration/confusion by having it triggered also by clicking "Save Changes." This would avoid any user combing back through the form to find the input with the asterisk.
Of course, proper user training is also critical to avoid confusion here. However, our organization will use this system with temporarily volunteers in for a fast-moving call reporting effort. This adjustment may help a number of them on occasion.

This is a great idea! Easily being able to see what fields need to be filled out after clicking Save would make submitting a record much more efficient. This would be especially important for temporary users who are not familiar with the system. It is our goal to make it as easy as possible to work within TrackVia. We will certainly pass this information along to our product team. Thank you for your feedback as it directly affects the direction of TrackVia!
