    Hi Noelle!

The formula below is showing you the most recently created child record on the parent table. To sum a number that falls within a date range, a different approach would be taken. On the child table, you could add a field with a logic statement that shows you the metric only if it falls within a certain date range. Then on the parent table, you would perform a sum on the field that you just created, which means you would only be summing the numbers that fall within the desired date range.

For example, on the child table, you could add a syntax similar to the one below. That logic is saying, if the month of the day the record was created is equal to the month of today, show me the desired metric, otherwise, do nothing. Let's call this field "Example A".

    Example A = if(month({Created})=month(today()),{Metric},null())

Then, on the parent table, do a sum on the field you just created, which would look like the syntax below.

    sum({Child Table Name}.{Relationship Name}.{Example A})

This syntax can vary depending on the date ranges you wish to include. If you have any issues or would like further assistance, feel free to send us an email to support@trackvia.com.

    Regards,

    Cristina

    Hi there!

Thank you for reaching out with your question.

If you are looking to have a calculated field on your parent table to show a specific field of the most recent child record, you can try the formula below. This formula would need to be placed on the parent table and it will show the field of your choice of the most recently created child record.

    if(contains("|",childconcatenate({Table Name}.{Relationship Name}.{Field Name} ,"|")), reverse(snip(reverse(childconcatenate({Table Name}.{Relationship Name}.{Field Name} ,"|")),"","|")), childconcatenate({Table Name}.{Relationship Name}.{Field Name} ,"|"))

If you encounter any issues when setting up your formula, feel free to send us an email to support@trackvia.com.

    Regards,

    Cristina

    Hi Jared,

That would be a great addition to our current Formula selection! We have been able to account for Public Holidays using Application Scripts, however, a function that does it would be a great enhancement. I have added a feature request in your name, and you will be notified once there is an update on the status of that request.

Let us know if you have further questions!

    Regards,

    Cristina

    Hi Nelson,

Thank you for reaching out! The way to accomplish this will depend on the way your data is set up. If you are changing the value of a relationship field and are looking to do that in bulk, you can use the quick filter feature as well as the bulk update feature to quickly reassign records to a different parent record. For your reference, I have provided a couple of links to our Knowledge Base with information about quick filtering and updating records in bulk.

    https://help.trackvia.com/knowledgebase/articles/514724-how-to-use-quick-filters
    https://help.trackvia.com/knowledgebase/articles/357684-how-to-bulk-edit-delete-records

If you would like for a member of our Support Team to take a look at your account and provide a more detailed response, please send the details of your request to support@trackvia.com

We look forward to hearing from you!

    Regards,

    Cristina

    Hi,

Thank you for reaching out! You are correct, there is no one function that would take care of the scenario you are describing. TrackVia has a lot of room for customization, therefore, depending on the way your application is set up, you could use a combination of functions to get the desired result. If you would like for us to assist further, please send us an email to support@trackvia.com with the details of your account as well as table/field names.

We look forward to hearing back from you.

    Regards,

    Cristina

    Hi Aaron,

Thank you for reaching out! If you would only like to see the time of a certain record, you can use the right() function on a calculated text field to only show a specific number of characters from the end of the string.

    Example:
    {Start Time} --> 05/16/2019 05:45pm
    right({Start Time},8) --> 17:45:00

You can also use the left() function, mid() function or snip() function to get a different type of outcome. More information on these types of functions can be found on the link below.

    https://help.trackvia.com/knowledgebase/articles/281151-text-functions

I have also submitted a feature request for our Product Team to consider adding a "Time" field to the platform. If and when this feature is released, you will be notified.

    Regards,

    Cristina

    Hi David,

Thank you for reaching out! TrackVia is very customizable and depending on your process, you could use some of the features like flows or application scripts to accomplish this functionality. Feel free to send the details of your workflow to support@trackvia.com or to your dedicated Premium Support representative to receive further assistance. You can also contact your internal TrackVia Admin as he/she may know how to go about this process.

    Regards,

    Cristina

    Hi Samuel,

Thank you for reaching out! You are able to click on a link and have it open on the TrackVia Mobile App if you use the deep link provided below. This link would take you to App 10, Table 54 and View 3138 on the TrackVia Mobile App. You can alter your links to have this same syntax in order to get the desired behavior. At the moment, this syntax will only work for iOS devices, however, we are working on having this same functionality on Android devices as well. We will let you know once we release deep links for Android!

    Hi Marta,

Thank you for reaching out! Notifications are created at the view level and will trigger once a record is added/removed from the view, or when a record in the view changes. If 5 records are added at once (via import), you would get one notification that says "5 records were added". If 5 records are individually created, then you would get 5 different notifications with regards to each record. It would be a great enhancement to have a general notification set up at the table level that gives you general updates not specific to a record. I have added a feature request for our Product Team to consider releasing this functionality to the system. We will let you know once there is an update to the status of this request!

    Regards,

    Cristina

    Hi George,

At the moment, you cannot get the database ID using Application Scripts. We are working on getting this functionality released and we will circle back with any updates. You are able to get the database ID with the Open API and you can use the link below to test it out.

    Hi Lorrie,

This feature has not been introduced yet, however, we do take nightly backups of your account and we have the ability to process an account restore from one of those backups. If you are interested in evaluating this alternative, feel free to give us a call or send us an email to support@trackvia.com. We have added you to the existing ticket regarding this Feature Request and we will contact you once there is an update.

    Hello,

Thank you for reaching out! There is a function called childconcatenateorderby() that does the same as the childconcatenate() function, except it will sort all records in a specified order. For more information on the details of this function, please reference the link below.

    Hi Angie,

Thank you for reaching out! You can organize the way your dashboards are shown by assigning your user to a role. The same way you set up the order of the dashboards for your users on their roles, you can do so for yourself on your role. The way your dashboards show up top to bottom on your role will be the same way they show up on your screen left to right. On the Role Designer, you can drag the assigned dashboards any way you would like to get them to show in the desired order. The link below contains additional information with regards to assigning a dashboard as your homepage.

    https://help.trackvia.com/knowledgebase/articles/245713-how-to-assign-a-dashboard-as-a-homepage

If you have further questions feel free to send a request to support@trackvia.com.

    Hi Noelle,

That error usually happens when you are looking at child tables in your calculations without a child function (also known as an aggregate function). If you would like to troubleshoot further, could you send the name of the app and table where this is happening and the information you are trying to show in your calculated field to support@trackvia.com?

    Thank you!

    Cristina

    Cristina commented  ·

    Hi Noelle,

Thank you for reaching out! It is possible to add another column to your table that outputs the text version of what a particular record is linking to on its parent table. This can be done by adding a calculated field to your table and performing what is called a "Parent Lookup". You can reference the field of the parent table that you want to show on the child table.

    A parent table's field is referenced in a calculated field using the format: {Table Name}.{Relationship Name}.{Field Name}.

If you are looking to show the text version of a certain field of the numerous child records linked to the parent table, you would need to use the child functions in the link below on a calculated or triggered field.

    https://help.trackvia.com/knowledgebase/articles/356703-child-functions

Whether you do a "Parent Lookup" or use child functions, will depend on the relationship between your clients, contracts and companies tables.

Feel free to reach out at support@trackvia.com for further assistance.

    Regards,

    Cristina

    Hi Noelle,

    Thank you for reaching out!

In calculations, you are able to look at the previous month by using a combination of the date functions found in the link below.

    https://help.trackvia.com/knowledgebase/articles/277734-date-functions

The logic of the syntax shown below is saying, if the month of the "Date field" is equal to the previous month, output the "Quantity", otherwise, leave blank.

    if(month({Date Field})=month(today())-1,{Quantity},null())

If you would like further assistance, feel free to send your request to support@trackvia.com with the name of the table/view/fields and any additional details that might be helpful.

    Regards,

    Cristina

    Hi Matthew,

    Thank you for reaching out!

You could create a view that has a filter applied to only show records whose Date field is 1 week from today, and then schedule a report to send out at your desired time and frequency. All records that meet the filter criteria will get sent out at the time you specified. Only Application Admins have the ability to set up scheduled reports.

The steps to create a scheduled report can be found on our knowledge base here:

    https://help.trackvia.com/knowledgebase/articles/723090-how-to-setup-a-scheduled-report

    Hello,

Thank you for your comment. In TrackVia you can accomplish a similar functionality by adding a "Text" widget on a form, which will then allow you to write a note and place it on the location of your choice within the form.

The tooltip idea, however, would be a great feature to implement to the system. I have logged this feature request with our engineering team for a future enhancement.

    Cristina

    Hi RMoore,

    Thank you for reaching out.

Selecting a theme/color pattern is a feature that is currently available in TrackVia. Super Admins have the ability to change it by navigating the "My Account" page and then choosing "Logos & Colors" and selecting the desired theme. Please feel free to contact us at support@trackvia.com for further help/details on selecting color patterns.

    Hi J.Lupin

    Thank you for reaching out!

When writing formulas in calculated/triggered fields in TrackVia, unfortunately, it is not possible to add comments. However, I have submitted a feature request to our Product Team for this to be considered.
