New Attachments Field Now Available
We’re excited to launch the Attachments Field, a highly requested enhancement that makes uploading, organizing, and accessing multiple files faster and more flexible than ever before. Whether you're collecting supporting documents, submitting multiple photos, or storing related PDFs, the Attachments Field gives you a streamlined, modern way to manage files — all in one place.
What’s New?
Upload Multiple Files All at Once
Gone are the days of uploading files one by one. With the new Attachments Field, users can now upload up to 25 images or documents to a record in a single action. This drastically reduces time spent managing files and improves workflows where bulk uploads are common — like inspections, audits, onboarding, and more.
Mixed File Types, Unified Experience
Upload a combination of file types — from images and PDFs to spreadsheets — and manage them all within a single, easy-to-use field. The system continues to block potentially unsafe or malicious file types for security purposes.
📸 Easily drag-and-drop or select multiple files directly into the field
Intuitive Design Across Web & Mobile
The Attachments Field is available everywhere you work, with a consistent, user-friendly interface on web and mobile (including offline). Key visual features include:
- A seamless, drag-and-drop or file picker upload experience directly into the field
- Thumbnail previews for quick file recognition and file name display
- Lightbox viewer for expanding, browsing, and downloading files
- Attachment counters in views and grids
📸 Easily reference Attachments in Views and download as a convenient .zip file
Seamless Integration with Apps
The new field type works just like others in TrackVia:
- Add via Table Builder
- Use in Forms, Views, and Filters
- Apply Show/Hide rules
- Use on Parent/Child Views
Fully functional in Flows
📸 Add Attachments fields just like any other field in the system
Builder Notes
- Existing Image and Document fields are unchanged and still great for single-file use cases.
- Each Attachments Field counts as one table join towards the "join limit", no matter how many files are uploaded to it.
- Maximum file size: 40MB per file, with a total capacity of up to 1GB per field (25 files max).
A maximum of (4) Attachments fields can be added to any one table.
📸 Use Form Field Settings to control the size of the thumbnail images on Forms
What’s Not Supported (Yet)
To ensure stability at launch, these capabilities will roll out in future updates:
- OpenAPI & Workato: Currently, Attachments Fields are not accessible via API or automation recipes.
- Calculated / Triggered Fields: As with Image/Document fields, Attachments Fields cannot be used in formulas.
- Scheduled Shares and Notifications Support: Thumbnails are not included when Sharing an individual record containing an Attachments field.
