How To Connect Formstack to Workato

Overview

This article provides a step-by-step guide for how to connect your Formstack account to your Workato account so that you can use Formstack document templates in Workato recipes.

Connecting a Formstack Account to Workato

Step 1

Log into your Formstack account and click on "User Name" in the upper right corner, then select "API Access" from the menu (see red boxes in the screenshot below). 

Step 2

Click the "Click here to create an API Key!" link (see red arrow in screenshot below) to begin the process.

Step 3

Enter a clear, descriptive name for the API key such as "TrackVia/Workato Integration" (see red box in screenshot below) and then click the "Create Key" button (see red arrow in screenshot below).

Step 4

Note the "Key" and "Secret" values for the API you just created (see red box in screenshot below).

Step 5

Open your Workato instance and create a new connection to "Formstack Documents" (see red box in screenshot below).

Step 6

Enter the API Key and API Secret from Formstack (see Step 4 above), and click "Connect" (see red arrow in screenshot below).

And now you can use Formstack document templates in Workato recipes!
