How to Change Date Formatting

The TrackVia web application will set your date format correctly based on your system preferences. For example, if you are from the UK and your computer's operating system is set to ENGLISH (UK) you will start to see dates in the format of DD/MM/YYYY. If you have an operating system set to CHINESE (Simplified) you will see YYYY-MM-DD. Users with their system settings set to ENGLISH (USA) will see no change and dates will continue to be formatted as MM/DD/YYYY. Additionally, to make sharing, scheduled reports, and data exports more consistent and readable across locales, they have been updated to a medium format; i.e. Jan 01, 2021.

Note: These settings are applicable to date field types in the web application, and do not apply to Android or iOS. Furthermore, Record IDs are considered calculated text fields, so when the Record ID includes a date field, the display will adhere to ENGLISH (USA), and will be formatted as MM/DD/YYYY.

Windows (PC)

Chrome - Go to Settings >  Time & Language > Region and then select the appropriate Country or region, as well as the Regional format. Open Chrome settings > Advanced > Languages > open language settings and choose desired format. Check the box to "Display Google Chrome in this Language". Restart Chrome. Format will change.

Firefox - Go to Settings > Time & Language > Region and then select the appropriate Country or region, as well as the Regional format. Open Firefox settings > General > Language and Appearance > select the appropriate language. Dates will be formatted appropriately.

Edge - Go to Settings > Time & Language > Region and then select the appropriate Country or region, as well as the Regional format. Open Edge settings > Languages > ensure your desired language is listed first. 

MAC OS

Chrome - Go to System Preferences > Language and Region and then choose Preferred Language, move that language to the top position. Restart Chrome. Dates will be formatted appropriately.

Firefox - Go to System Preferences > Language and Region and then choose Preferred Language, move that language to the top position. Restart Firefox. Dates will be formatted appropriately.

Safari - Go to System Preferences > Language and Region and then choose Preferred Language, move that language to the top position. Restart Safari. Dates will be formatted appropriately.
