What's New?
Limited User Access to History
You have use-cases where your end users need to reference not only the record data that you store in TrackVia, but also the underlying history of changes over time made to those records. Or perhaps you just want your end users to be able to investigate and triage changes to records without needing to involve an Admin user.
Previously, access to record history was limited to App Admin and Super Admin users only. Now, all Limited Users can access individual record history at your discretion.
With this release there is an important new change to how History Logs work in the system:
Fields displayed in the History will only reflect those fields that are present on the current Form being viewed.
Why? In order to minimize the amount of confusing history logs for end users, or exposing history of fields that a user should not have visibility to, we have brought the experience together, so that what you see on your Form on the left will always match what history you are seeing on the right.
If a change occurred to a record that the user does not have access to, they will see a generic message letting them know:
In order to see the entire history of any given record, you'll need to navigate to the Default Form or similar.
What else?:
1. History Start and End Date filtering now lets you easily filter down to only those history records you are concerned with from a specific time range:
2. Convenient results indicator lets you see at a glance how many changes have been made to the record since created, and paginate or jump to a specific page of results
FAQs:
Q: Does this apply to the History of Views?
A: No, this release only exposes History when opening a single record. View-level History is still only accessible to App Admin or Super Admin users.
Q: I don't want my Limited Users to see History. Can I disable this?
A: This feature is disabled by default in your account. To enable it, reach out to any of your TrackVia contacts, email us at support@trackvia.com or fill out this quick request form and we'll get you set up right away.
What's Fixed?
1. Previously when Sharing a Gantt View or Map View from the system, the email included a broken preview icon of the chart. We have cleaned this up and now link directly to the proper resource for these View types.
2. We fixed an issue with Date and Date/Time fields on Forms not scrolling properly when expanded.
3. We fixed an issue when tabbing through fields on a Child Create Form - fields are no longer cut off at the bottom, forcing the user to scroll to access remaining fields on the Form.
4. We fixed an issue where dropdown fields containing data for a dropdown option that has been deleted were no longer showing the data as populated in the record. This has been resolved.
5. We fixed an issue with how Views and Forms were rounding decimal places differently. This has been aligned. (Example, 1.805 now consistently rounds up to 1.81 and down to 1.80 in both places as expected)
6. We fixed an issue where a user editing a scheduled share caused the Created By user of that share to change.
7. We fixed an issue that was preventing users from being able to Copy records if a blank Location field was present on the Form.
8. Previously Chart and Graph previews were not rendering when a View is Shared via email, showing a "Chart did not generate" error. Charts and Graphs now render as expected, with the exception of Gantt Charts, as mentioned above.
9. Lastly, we fixed an issue with Dropdown/Image/Document fields on Child Add Forms requiring extraneous scrolling:
