Interacting with Dashboards

This article is specific to the updated TrackVia UI released in Fall 2026

A dashboard is a collection of resources (e.g. views and forms) compiled in a single location. Dashboards are typically customized to provide easy access to resources relevant to a specific role, and acts as the "homepage" for users upon login. 

The following resources may be included on dashboards:

Forms - *COMING SOON

A Form placed on a dashboard lets you create new records without leaving the page.

Views

A View placed on a dashboard is live. You can search it, filter it, add records to it, and open the records inside it without navigating away.

• Opening and expanding a view
  Click the name of a view, such as Utilization trend, to open that specific view from the dashboard. To see the view larger without leaving the dashboard, click the expand arrow in its upper right corner.

  

Flows - *COMING SOON

For an end user, a Flow looks like a button on the dashboard.

Shortcut Panels

A shortcut panel widget collects forms, views, and flows into a single list of buttons. Clicking a button opens that resource. Use shortcut panels to save space on a dashboard instead of displaying each resource individually on the dashboard.

Switching Between Dashboards

An app can hold more than one dashboard. The Assets app has three: Fleet overview, Analytics, and Maintenance pipeline.

There are two ways to move between them, both outlined in red below.

1. From the App Resources panel (left side). Expand Dashboards in the left rail and click the one you want. This works from anywhere in the app, including while you're in a view or a form. 
2. From the dashboard tabs at the top of the page. When you're already on a dashboard, the tab strip across the top lists the app's dashboards. Click a tab to switch. The tab you're currently on is underlined.

Tip: You can also jump straight to a dashboard by name using the search bar at the top of the screen.

The dashboard marked with a home icon, Fleet overview in this app, is the default dashboard that the user is brought to upon entering this app.
