The New TrackVia UI
Starting September 30, the new experience is available to all Super Admins by default. Super Admins can opt out by contacting TrackVia Support.
Once your access is enabled, a "View in the new experience" link appears in the header of your current TrackVia interface, next to the app name. Click it to open the new experience in a new tab. You use the same login, and there is no separate signup.
How to Enable the Modernized UI Link for Other Users
The new TrackVia interface is turned on through a role setting called Modernized Experience Link. In the role editor it appears under Global Permissions, described as "Allow this role to display a link for individuals to access the modernized product experience."
Two things follow from that description, and both are worth being clear about before you enable it:
It grants access, it does not force a switch. Checking the box gives users a link into the new interface. It does not move them there automatically or take the classic interface away.
It is a role setting, not a user setting. Everyone assigned to that role receives the link. If you want to give the new interface to a specific group of people, give it to a role those people share, or create a role for them.
Before You Begin
Note that only Super Admin and App Admin users can edit roles in the application.
Enable the Modernized Experience Link
- Open the role you want to edit.
- Expand the Global Permissions section. It is described as "Set overall app permissions for this role."
- Find Modernized Experience Link at the bottom of the section.
- Check the Modernized Experience Link box.
- Save the role.
Access Applies Across All Apps
Roles are defined per application, but access to the new interface is not scoped that way. If a user has access to the new UI in one app, they have access to the new UI in every app they can reach. Enabling the setting on a single role in a single application gives those users the new interface everywhere.
For example, suppose someone is assigned to the following roles across multiple apps in your account:
- Inspections, under a role where Modernized Experience Link is checked
- Work Orders, under a role where it is not checked
- Assets, under a role where it is not checked
That user gets the new interface in all three. The two unchecked roles do not hold it back.
What Users See After It Is Enabled
Once the role is saved, users assigned to it see a link to the modernized experience!
Sandboxes and the New UI
At this time the "View in the new experience" link does not appear in sandbox accounts, even for Super Admins. This will be coming later.
