This article is specific to the updated TrackVia UI released in Fall 2026
This article orients you to the main navigation elements in the redesigned TrackVia UI: the App Switcher, the App Resources menu, breadcrumbs, the home logo, and the search bar. Use it alongside the video below before diving into other resources.
App Dropdown
The Workspace App in the top-left corner of the screen shows which app you're currently working in (for example, Asset Tracking & Maintenance). To switch to a different app you have access to, click the dropdown arrow to the right of the app name to open the list of applications in your account, then select a different app.
App Resources
Below the Workspace App name, the left-hand panel lists App Resources split into categories for Dashboards, Views, Forms, and Flows. The side bar will surface the collection of any Views/Forms/Flows that show up on any dashboard that the user has access to in the app. If the resource isn't included on any of their dashboards, it won't be included on the left navigation panel.
Click any category to expand it in place and see everything in it. For example, expanding Dashboards lists every dashboard in the app (Asset Management, Reservation Dashboard, Maintenance Home, Technician Dashboard).
Hovering over each section (e.g. Dashboards, Views, Flows) will display a magnifying glass icon. Clicking this will allow you to search for any resource by name in the selected section.
Collapsing the Panel
Use the Collapse control at the bottom of the left panel to shrink it down to icons only. This frees up horizontal space for wide views and dashboards. Click the same control again (it now points the other way) to bring the full labeled panel back.
When the panel is collapsed, it displays icons only. Hover over a category icon instead of clicking and a flyout menu appears with the same list, so you can jump straight to an item without expanding the full panel.
Understanding "Breadcrumbs"
Every page shows a breadcrumb trail just above the page title. For example: Your apps > Asset Tracking & Maintenance > Asset Management > Asset Summary. Each segment is clickable:
- Your apps returns to the full list of apps you have access to.
- App name (e.g. Asset Tracking & Maintenance) returns to that app's home.
- Dashboard/category name (e.g. Asset Management) returns to that dashboard.
- Current page (e.g. Asset Summary) the view or form you're on now.
Breadcrumbs are the fastest way to back up one or more levels without using the App Resources panel.
Home Button / Logo
The TrackVia logo (or your company logo) in the top-left corner is always visible, no matter how deep you navigate. Click it at any time to return to Your apps which is the landing page listing every app you have access to.
Go-to Search Bar
The Go-to search bar at the top of the page ("Search dashboards, views, forms...") lets you jump directly to any dashboard, view, or form by typing its name. The search will be applied across all apps that the user has access to.
Dark Mode & Return to TrackVia Classic
To enable Dark Mode, click on your profile icon in the upper right corner of the screen, then toggle "Dark Mode" on.
You can also return to the classic TrackVia UI by clicking on "Go back to TrackVia Classic".
