This article is specific to the updated TrackVia UI released in Fall 2026
Quick Filters let you narrow the records shown in a view, such as a quick list of open projects or a report filtered by Account Rep. Quick Filters are available on all TrackVia plans and to all user types.
Quick Filters: apply a filter to a view
1. From a view, click the Filter link found towards the top right corner of the page.
2. Choose the field you want to filter by.
3. Set the filter options. The options depend on the type of field you chose.
Quick Filters: edit or add conditions
To edit a Quick Filter, click Filter again. You can add more filter conditions or condition groups to the Quick Filter using AND/OR logic.
Quick Filters: clear a filter
To remove all Quick Filters, click Clear all. To remove one condition, click the X next to that filter condition.
Quick Filters: who sees your filters
Quick Filters apply only to the logged-in user. Your Quick Filters don't change the view for other users, even users who are in the view at the same time.
TrackVia remembers your Quick Filters until you clear them or leave the application. To save a filtered view for future use, an Admin needs to create the view and give limited users access through their role.

Note: Quick Filters produce a unique URL, so you can bookmark a filtered view instead of asking an Admin to create a new view.

Quick Filters: how Date and Time filters behave
When you use a Quick Filter on a Date and Time field, you pick both a date and a time.
Date and Time filters: the default time
If you pick a day without setting a time, the time defaults to 9:00 AM. The filter shows the date and time it uses, for example Jan 17, 2015 · 9:00 AM. Set the time yourself when you want to filter to a different time of day.
Date and Time filters: exact matches
A Date and Time filter set to is equal to a specific date and time only matches records saved at that exact minute. For example, a record saved at 8:56:30 AM doesn't match a filter for 8:56 AM. To find records across a span of time, use is before, is after, or the "or equal to" comparisons.
Date and Time filters: show every record from one day
To see every record from one day, use a relative option such as today, yesterday, or this many days ago. Relative options match the whole day, no matter what time the record was saved.
Date and Time filters: set a date range
You can add 2 conditions on the same Date and Time field to set a range. For example, use is after or equal to one date and is before a later date. The view shows only records that meet both conditions.
Date and Time filters: this many days ago or from now
For this many days ago and this many days from now, enter a number of 1 or more. A condition with 0 or an empty value is left out of the filter. To filter for the current day, use today.
Date and Time filters: time zones
A specific date and time is compared using the TrackVia server's time zone, not the time zone in your user profile. Relative options such as today use the time zone in your user profile.
